I thought I would introduce myself. I’m Takara… Some folks also call me Kara. I have had an on and off relationship with social media over the years, and to be honest, I really don’t like supporting something that I feel has been so harmful to our mental and emotional well-being. I’m on the “phasing out” phase of my business pages with Facebook and LinkedIn, so I’ve decided to start keeping a blog here on my websites for now to keep folks in the loop on any updates or inspirations from my world. A little about me: I am a native of Southwestern Virginia, the Appalachian region nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was here that I attended Blue Ridge School of Massage & Yoga, where I received certificates in medical massage therapy and yoga. I have been a licensed and nationally board certified Massage Therapist since 2011. I then went on the move for several years around the country, where I got more experience in designing and decorating homes to create ambiance that feels like home. The journey brought me through Connecticut, Texas, Arizona and Utah. More recently, life and the joy of living brought my husband and I to Bethlehem, New Hampshire where we call the beautiful White Mountain Region home. I own two companies here in the North Country of New Hampshire. Takara Wellness Co. (Massage Therapy & Wellness) and Hold Designs, LLC (Residential Design & Ambiance Design). These may seem worlds apart to some of you, but to me they are closely connected. The vision is to bring together wellness & ambiance to define sanctuary for the soul. “Massage is to your body, as your ambiance is to your emotional well-being.” When I’m not sharing space with clients, I enjoy creating art, digging in the dirt, hiking, trail running and skiing to name a few.
